TUESDAY LESSONS IN CIVICS-#22

In place of my usual Lessons in Civics I have decided to post the following which I believe to be of importance:

Is It By Accident or Design?

All day yesterday, I listened to government spokespeople cry the blues on all of the various news programs about how the “Baby Boomers” are now signing up for their Social Security benefits, and how the government doesn’t have enough money to meet the demand.

The government is saying that in order to handle all of the new claims, that will start coming due in January, they will have to make drastic cuts in all their other programs, such as money for education, police, etc., and that there will even have to be drastic cuts made to the Social Security Benefits. They went on to say how we don’t have enough workers in the work force to pay into the Social Security fund and that the fund will be totally depleted by the year 2040, if not sooner. But, this was nothing new as this “debate” has been going on for years now, yet not a damn thing has been done in Congress to rectify this situation. It is just the same old, same old, “After all has been said and done, more has been said then done.”

This got me to do some real serious thinking and doing some background investigation. Whose fault is all of this? How did we get to this point? Does any one really care? Are we in this situation by accident or design? I am going to leave that last question up to each of you to answer for yourselves, but before you arrive at your answer, please consider that the United States isn’t the only country facing this crisis; all of Europe is in the same boat, as you will see later in this piece.

As to the other questions, let’s consider the following:

First of all, the American people were lied to and scammed right from the start as regards the Social Security Administration Act. First of all, we were falsely led to believe that the money we and our employers paid into the fund was put into a separate fund. Not TRUE. All of the Social Security money went into the General fund and the government began spending that money right from the start on everything from soup to nuts. The Social Security Act became just another tax foisted on the American public. As the money rolled in the government couldn’t spend it fast enough, and as they spent the money, they began to replace it with government bonds (in other words, with I.O.U’s). Back then, the government didn’t worry because married couples were having large families so that there was a seemingly unlimited supply of souls who would enter the work force, so the government dug even deeper into the till. Those who knew what was happening remained silent.

Then came legalized abortion, but that was ok, because an unborn child isn’t fully human so there is nothing wrong with snuffing them out. Remember Nazi Germany and the “Final Solution” to the Jewish “Problem”? According to the Nazis, the Jews weren’t exactly fully human, so there was nothing wrong with snuffing them out. Or we can even look to the days of slavery right here in our own country. There was nothing wrong with keeping Blacks as slaves or hanging a few now and then because after all, they aren’t fully human. As you can see, it is the same crap but in a different crapper.

Any how, as more and more women decided to exercise their new found RIGHT to kill their unborn children, which meant less and less potential laborers for the work force, which in turn meant fewer workers paying into the system, but that didn’t stop the government from digging deeper into the Social Security coffers. I can’t say that the government was spending the money like drunken sailors, because that just would not be correct. A drunken sailor spends his OWN money, whereas the government spends OUR money.

Another thing that has helped to compound the Social Security problem has been all of the so-called “Free Trade” agreements. Once again, we were scammed big time, being told that these agreements would be good for our economy by producing competition. Well, excuse me, but am I wrong, I thought that free trade meant that the country that we sign the agreement with would buy so much of our goods and we would buy so much of theirs, with no restrictions. Instead, free trade seems to mean that all of our manufacturing jobs close down here and move to the country that we signed the agreement with. This puts more of our citizens out of work, which means less money being paid into the Social Security system. Then to make matters worse, what few jobs we did have left, started being taken over by illegal immigrants. This came about because employers decided that they no longer wanted to pay even the minimum wage, let alone benefits. It was cheaper for them to hire illegals and many legal immigrants who were willing to work for far less, and then they turn around and say that we NEED the illegals because they are taking jobs that Americans don’t want to do. As a result, they are lowering the standard of living in this country and they are not paying into the Social Security system.

In response to this, our elected officials ignore the American citizens who demand that our borders be secured against the millions of illegals entering our country every year. They side with the employers and the “open border” groups, and they even are discussing the possibility of sending our Social Security money to Mexico, while increasing the number of immigrants to be allowed into the country, both legal and illegal, pushing for multi-culturalism. This is leading to the slow disintegration of American society and our American way of life. We are also being forced into acceptance of every different and perverted life-style that comes along. Today, we have so many groups and organizations, including churches, which are pushing for same-sex marriages, while the number of traditional heterosexual marriages is going down. Again, we have even less people being produced for an ever shrinking work force.

The saddest thing in all of this is the fact that the majority of people have remained silent about all of this. Our elected officials keep telling us that we are facing real serious problems with the Social Security System, but they continue to do nothing. Why, because even if the Social Security System were to collapse totally, it would not affect the members of Congress, because they do not even pay into the System. They not only can vote themselves a raise every year, but they have an even better retirement program then we do, and we are the ones paying for it. Under their retirement program, what ever their salary is at the time of their retirement that is exactly the amount they will receive for the rest of their lives, along with yearly cost of living increases. And still, we remain silent.

And still, the beat goes on. While the Social Security System dries up and government spokes –men and women appear on TV, wringing their collective hands and saying “woe is me, the system is going broke”, they continue to spend, spend, spend unabashedly. And as they dig deeper into our Social Security funds and our pockets, we have liberal commies like Hillary Clinton doing everything she can to force, first every child in America (including children of illegal immigrants) onto government health care rolls, and then eventually every adult. What do We the People do? Nada! Although some Americans are saying: “Oh that would be so wonderful, we are all going to have health. Isn’t our government wonderful? Never mind the fact that national health care, socialized medicine is a failure in every country that has it, and that we all will have to pay through the teeth for it in the end.

Then, you have many liberals fighting across the country to legalize euthanasia, the so-called RIGHT to die. I have lived long enough, and I’m sure many of you have also, to know that what is legalized and made voluntary today, becomes compulsory tomorrow. Can you see where this is going? As we become, ever more, slaves to the State, and the State becomes ever more the lord and master over our lives, gaining ever more access to our personal lives and data, just how long do you suppose it will be before those who are retired, disabled or handicapped, become “useless, non-producing bottom feeders”, non-contributing leeches in society, in the eyes of the government? Then how long do you think it will be before your “right to die” becomes “Your Duty to Die” so as not to be a burden on society? Already, in the Netherlands, it has gone beyond a person’s right to die and has progressed to the point where it is no longer up to the individual or their families. Doctors can now euthanize patients with out the knowledge or consent of the patient or their families, if the doctor feels that the patient is incurable or won’t have a very good quality of life. That thought alone should be enough to send chills up and down your spine.

Let us not forget, at least those of us who can remember back to the late 50’s, early 60’s when you weren’t required to get a Social Security card until you got your first job, and it was told to us that the Social Security card was NOT to be used as a form of ID, but then all of a sudden we were required to give our Social Security number in order to open a bank account or to get a driver’s license or even to make any major purchase. Then it became mandatory to sign newborns up for a Social Security Card. Today, a Social Security number is required for every aspect of our lives. Can you say “Your papers, please”? This means that your Social Security card will be nothing more than a national ID card and have nothing to do with retirement.

While we are busy facing this “retirement crisis”, our president is spending a lot of time behind the scenes holding secret meetings with the leaders of Mexico, Canada and other Latin American countries to sell out our national sovereignty to form a North American Union on the same order as the European Union. And as Vicente Fox, the former President of Mexico, just recently admitted, these plans also call for doing away with our monetary system and setting up a single currency for the entire Western Hemisphere. Just yesterday, President Bush has urged Congress to ratify a “Free Trade” agreement with Costa Rica. If Congress does ratify that agreement (and I’m sure they will), you can count on even more of what few jobs we have left, heading south. This will also mean an end to our Constitution and our individual freedoms.

Here is one last thing to think about, America is not the only country to be suffering from a loss of jobs, shrinking work force, etc. Just about every country in Europe is facing the same thing. In Europe, the flood gates have been opened to both legal and illegal immigration, mostly from Muslim countries. Many Europeans are complaining that their countries are losing their national identity, their customs, and their languages. More and more women are opting to have abortions which has ended up in an aging population all across Europe, with not enough young people in the work force to help pay for the care of the elderly population, and the whole situation in Europe has grown steadily worse since the formation of the European Union. These same problems are beginning to be felt in Japan.

Through all of this, the majority of Americans have remained silent. They seem to think that there is nothing we can do, so why do anything. Also there are many who do not want to even hear about any of this. Even the majority of the churches today, would rather preach love and acceptance of every immoral act rather than rail against the evil that is stalking our world. Thus, as the devil works his mischief, we close our eyes and pretend everything is just hunky dory.

So again, I ask you, is all this by accident or design, and whose fault is it?
