WEDNESDAY MUSINGS - #4

WHY I FEAR FOR THE FUTURE OF AMERICA:

All day today, one political pundit after another, talked about the number of young voters showing an interest in this years election, and as they interviewed various young voters around the country, I was struck by one very glaring fact; young people today are predominately liberal, not just liberal in their politics, but extremely liberal in all aspects of their lives.

This liberalism has manifested itself in children today by their trashing and discarding of everything decent and morally up lifting that has been held dear and handed down to them by their parents and grand parents. Young people today have turned their backs on all that was good and decent, all of the foundations that had helped to make America great.

How has this come about? We have only ourselves to blame. When liberals invaded our schools and forced out prayer, dress codes and corporal punishment, parents remained silent with only a small handful rising up in protest. Parents remained silent as the liberals forced sex education into our schools and then managed to legalize abortion. Again, only a small handful of parents bothered to rise up in protest. There was more silence as the schools continued to brainwash their children into being accepting of homosexuality and the forcing of the homosexual agenda into the school curriculum. Then slowly the liberals, through the schools, the MSM and entertainment media and, sad to say, even through our churches began to instill a “welfare” mentality into our children. Kids today are growing up with a sense of entitlement, that they deserve the best of everything and that they deserve to “have it all”, not because they did anything to earn it, but just because of the fact that they exist, that they were born.

Today’s young people have a very myopic view of the world, and even though they are very glib at regurgitating the liberal mantra of globalism, they are incapable of seeing beyond themselves and their own wants and desires. They are so wrapped up in themselves that they cannot see the “big picture”, as to the effect of what they do will have on everyone else in society. They have also been brainwashed into a false and distorted sense of morality and right and wrong. They feel that it is morally right to save whales and baby seals, but morally wrong to ban abortions. To them, it is the moral thing to do to legalize same-sex marriage, forget the fact that homosexuality is totally unnatural and an abomination, while at the same time they believe in no-fault divorce, promiscuity and adultery. They have the belief that everybody has a RIGHT to be in this country legally or illegally and that we as a society have the responsibility to see to it that every illegal receives free medical and dental care, low income housing, free education, etc., because after all, it is the “Christian” thing to do.

Listening to the things coming out of the mouths the young people being interviewed by various reporters as to who they, the young voters, were going to vote for and why, sent a shudder of fear running up and down my spine because it really dawned on me that America has no future and that it is all over but the crying.

Some said that they were going to vote for Hillary. When asked why, they said that they were going to vote for her because Bill Clinton was the best president we ever had, and because of her experience. But when asked what experience Hillary has to qualify her to be president, they could not give a clear answer, other then to say that she had been the First Lady for eight years and a two-term Senator (forget the fact that she did little to nothing for the State of New York during her two terms). When asked on what do they base their belief that Bill Clinton was the best President we ever had, their answer was; “The economy was doing great because of him and he raised the minimum wage”, yet they forget the fact that it was the Republican Congress that passed the minimum wage increase and all of the other things that helped to keep the economy growing, Bill Clinton had to be dragged kicking and screaming to sign them into law. Also, they forget the fact that all during Bill Clinton’s two terms in office, the CEO’s of large corporations were fudging their books and inflating their bottom line which is why after Clinton left office, we had all of the Corporate scandals break loose, such as Enron.

These young people today have no knowledge that Bill Clinton either out-and-out sold much of our military technology to the Communist Chinese government or allowed it to fall into their hands, and that it was Bill Clinton who allowed the Loral Corporation to help Communist China develop their missal tracking system in exchange for huge amounts of campaign contributions for his re-election. They also seem to be blissfully unaware of the fact that both Bill and Hillary Clinton had made the statement that they had neither respect nor use for the military.

They also support Hillary because she promises them all sorts of hand outs, such as “Universal” health care and Pre-K, and she is an advocate of a “Nanny State” where the government will take care of everybody’s needs from cradle to grave, but they forget that they will have to be taxed up the yin-yang to pay for it.

Other young voters are all gaga over Barak Obama because he is young and cute, and he stands for change. The only problem is, Obama has never spelled out how he is going to change things, and other then pulling out of Iraq and turning it over to the terrorists, he hasn’t really spelled out what he will change. Young people today just don’t seem to know that not all change is for the good and often, some things are better off left unchanged. Also, it is claimed that Obama taught Constitutional Law, yet like all the other so-called Constitutional lawyers, he has remained silent on all of the abuses and violations of the Constitution by our elected officials.

Then, sadly, there are many voters, young and old who feel that those who are Republicans/Conservatives MUST vote for McCain if he is the GOP candidate for president, just to keep the Democrats out of the White House. It seems to make no difference to them that McCain is just as liberal on ALL social issues as Hillary, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Chuck Schumer, etc. The only thing McCain sides with the Republicans on, is keeping our troops in Iraq until the job is done. On everything else, he votes on the side of the Democrats. I for one will not go to the polls just to elect a Republocrat (a R.I.N.O,) just to keep a Democrat out. What exactly would I be accomplishing for my country by doing so? And to those who say that if I don’t vote, I have no right to complain, I say B.S., because I was disenfranchised by my State in the first place because when my vote could have made a difference in the New York State primary, I was NOT ALLOWED to cast a vote because our election laws say that only registered Republicans and Democrats are permitted to vote in the primaries. Since I am a registered Conservative, I am not allowed to vote in primary elections.

So, as I look at my country through the clear lens of reality, I can honestly say that what ever future America has, is very bleak indeed. And as our elected officials continue to trample on the Constitution while hypocritically proclaiming that we are a nation based on the rule of law, and as our rights and freedoms are being systematically chipped away at, I can only look on with a crushed and broken heart as our young people join hands and march down that lonely road to oblivion singing ‘Kumbaya’. And I hope they remember to turn off the light as the door to America’s history hits them in the butt as it slams shut.
