MONDAY MADNESS - #32

PARDON MY STUPIDITY, BUT DOESN’T THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE SAY THAT “ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL”?

Saturday morning after I had completed my prayers and breakfast, as I was in the process of cleaning up the kitchen, I turned on the TV to listen to the “BULLS and BEARS” business show on the Fox News Channel.

One of this shows regular weekly panelists is a little twerp, who looks like a cross between Howdy Doody and Dennis Kucinich, by the name of Jonathan Hoenig, a managing member of a private investment firm called the Capitalist Pig.

My impression of this little jerk was set the very first time I saw him on the Fox News Channel about a year ago. I believe this would sell out his own parents to make a buck. He is against every and all programs to help the poor, no matter what that program may be.

Any who, as I was listening to the Bulls and Bears show, the subject of “Free Trade Agreements” and where the various presidential candidates stood on the issue. When it was mentioned how these agreements were hurting American workers and causing many employers of manufacturing jobs to move overseas where they can find workers to work at far lower wages and less work place regulations. It was suggested by one member on the show that these “Free Trade Agreements” need to be re negotiated to be made fairer to American Workers. Well, Mr. Capitalist Pig himself, not being able to contain his “righteous indignation” over such a suggestion, popped up and said that the government has no right or business to stand in the way of corporations and stockholders making profits and that it wasn’t the governments job to protect workers or guarantee that Americans will have jobs. He went on to say that employers should have the right to relocate and/or hire immigrants (legal or otherwise) who will work for far less then American workers, if it will protect the company’s bottom line and earning huge dividends for their shareholders. He also said that this is a global society now and the American people better get used to it. And to think that Marie Antoinette had her head chopped off just for saying “Let them eat cake”, when referring to the working class.

Excuse me, but since when is our government supposed to be a government by, for and of corporations and stockholders? What ever happened to “WE THE PEOPLE”? What about the rights of the average American citizen to work and earn a decent living to support themselves and their families? I guess only the elite, the rich and the so-called “jet-setting beautiful people” are the only ones created equal. We working stiff peons don’t count.

Since when does “Free Trade” mean that we have to export all of our jobs to Third World countries? Where is the free trade in that? How does that benefit us? OH, I GET IT NOW! WE SEND THEM OUR JOBS AND THEY SEND US THEIR POVERTY. That sounds fair, don’t it? If this doesn’t put a bug up people’s butts to stage a revolt, I guess nothing will.
