Are Conservatives Really Winning Anything In
A couple of days ago, I received a rather lengthy comment on my blog that I posted for Tuesday, February 5th, titled “I HAVE MADE MY DECISION AND I AM STICKING TO IT.” The commenter is Danny Vice from:

I won’t tell you all of what he said, only because it was rather long, but I will give some snippets of his comments. They are as follows:
“What is so conservative about beating down the (soon to be) nominee who supports our troops, instead of the extreme liberals who insult our troops and degrade them every single day in front of the entire world?”
“By punishing John McCain for not being conservative enough – you are really punishing all conservatives by making absolutely sure they will be governed by radical, rabid liberalism for the next 4 to 8 years.”
“By stomping your feet and refusing to help, you in turn assure that the laws of the land will have few conservatives in a position of power to stop a runaway liberal train that will further infiltrate our school, explode your tax burden and socialize every part of your life it can.”
“Please think twice before punishing the rest of us conservatives, who may not love McCain, but are smart enough to realize the living nightmare that will ensue, if things continue on the path they are going.”
“I see nothing conservative about being so focused on the anthill, you completely ignore the volcano that’s about to wipe your entire cause out. That is not principal. That’s political suicide. Will conservatives ever learn?”
I appreciate Mr. Vice’s input, as I do the comments of each you, and I will concede Mr. Vice’s first point, but after almost 50 some years as a registered Conservative, and looking back over the years, I have to ask, What have we Conservatives really won? Sadly, I would have to answer truthfully; “WE HAVE WON ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!” Oh sure, we have managed to postpone the inevitable, but win? No! We haven’t WON a thing over 50 years. That is quite a track record don’t you think?
When President Reagan gave amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, toward the end of his term, he promised the American people that it would be the last time and that something would be done to secure the borders and “fix” our immigration laws. Then when Bill Clinton got in, he granted amnesty to millions more illegals and did nothing to secure the borders. Now we are told that we have to bite our tongues and hold our noses and vote like good little automatons for John McCain who insists that he is going to grant amnesty to 12 or more million illegals, no matter what the majority of Americans want, because he will stick up for our troops. Well, I have asked it before and I will ask it again; “What good does it do to continue the war on terror and stick up for our troops, while the rest of our country is going to hell?”
And Mr. Vice, perhaps you don’t realize it, but the runaway liberal train has further infiltrated our public schools to the point that today, parents have no say anymore as to what their children are going to be taught in the public schools. The National Education Association, a very liberal group is firmly entrenched and holds all the power. In many schools across this country, our children and grandchildren are having the homosexual life-style forced down their throats, they are being plied with condoms and birth control pills, some as young as 8-10 years old.
I’m sorry, but with all our protest letters, faxes, petitions, phone calls, etc., we Conservatives have been living a pipe dream and we haven’t won a thing. Check out the Conservative Report Card below:
