AMERICA SLIPPING AWAY

May God Grant Eternal Rest to

Those Who Lost Their Lives

In the Tragic Massacre at

Virginia Tech

And May our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Bring Comfort

And Peace to the Family and Friends Left Behind.

It is with utter and deep sadness that I return to blogging, after having had returned from a joyous trip to Virginia for the marriage of my youngest son, and now to hear of the horror to hit the campus of Virginia Tech.

The tragic events at Virginia Tech are systematic of the degeneration of American society. Already we are hearing the cry for stricter gun control laws or for the complete abolition of private gun ownership, as if this will cure the disease that, the cancer that has a grip on every aspect of our society. Stricter gun control or the abolition of private gun ownership is NOT the answer.

The problem is neither guns nor the ownership of guns by private citizens. The problem with America runs so much further than that. The problem starts with in our families and runs throughout the culture of our society. American’s are losing their ability to LOVE.

Like it or not, the legalization of abortion and the banning of prayer from our schools have played the biggest roles in the disintegration of respect for life. This has led to a lack of self-respect and a total lack of respect for each other.

From the legalization of abortion the women’s rights organizations moved on to pushing for and winning no-fault divorce, making it so much easier to tear apart the traditional family unit, while at the same time, glorifying the “virtues” of homosexuality and same sex marriage.

The next big weapon that has been used to further destroy the moral fabric of our nation is “political correctness”. This has been used to stifle the voices of reason in our society. People in all walks of life are forbidden from speaking out against evil, sin and immoral behavior; because those who are engaging in the evil, those committing the sins and living immoral life-styles claim that they are offend by those speaking out. Then the full weight of the “law” comes down hard on those who stand up for what is right, and charges them with preaching hate and being bigots or worse. The further we turn from God, the further we turn from the very moral and ethical principles our country was founded on, the more we embrace immorality, the deeper we allow our society to slip into the cesspool of depravity and moral degradation, the more hedonistic and self-centered we become as individuals and as a nation, the more violent our society will become. This is NOT a guess or theory, it IS A FACT!

The only way to turn things around is to bring God back into our every day lives and to get back to the moral and ethical values which this nation was founded upon. Failure to do this can only lead to the total downfall and destruction of our country.
