CHEAP LABOR?
Isn’t this what they claim that the whole immigration issue is about?
+ Businesses don’t want to pay a decent wage;
+ Consumers don’t want expensive produce;
+ The Government tells us that Americans don’t want the jobs;
But lets be honest, the phrase “Cheap Labor” is a myth, a farce, an out-an-out lie. There is no such thing as “Cheap Labor”.
Here are the facts:
Take, for example, an illegal immigrant with a wife and five children.
He takes a job for $5.00 or $6.00 an hour. At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return, he gets an ‘earned income tax credit’ of up to $3,200 free.
He also qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent. He also qualifies for food stamps.
This same illegal immigrant and his wife and kids also qualify for free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care.
Besides the food stamps and the W.I.C Program (Women with Infants and Children Program that allows for buying extra milk and cereal) his children receive free breakfasts and lunches at school. His children require bilingual teachers and books at school.
He qualifies for relief from high energy bills. If he or any family member is or becomes aged, blind or disabled they qualify for SSI. Once qualified for SSI they can then qualify for Medicare.
All of this at the American taxpayer’s expense.
He doesn’t worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance.
The American taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins and other printed material.
He and his family receive the equivalent of $20.00 to $30.00 an hour in benefits. Working Americans are lucky to have $5.00 or $6.00 an hour left after paying their own bills and those of the illegal immigrant.
The American taxpayers also pay for increased educational cost, cost in crime, graffiti removal and trash clean-up as a result of the illegal immigrants.
