THURSDAY STUFF MUSINGS - #15

Shocking News!!

According to a new book there are shocking allegations that former Soviet Union leader Mikhail Gorbachev, now the darling blue-eyed boy of the West, signed off on an assassination plot against Pope John-Paul II that resulted in the Pontiff being wounded by a Turkish gunman, (How come I’m not surprised?).

In the years since the May 1981 attempt on the pope, allegations have been made that prominent Soviet leaders were involved.

The book, “It’s About the Pope: Spies in the Vatican by John O. Kohler, which was just released in the late pope’s home country of Poland, contains sensational documents pointing the finger at Gorbachev.

In 1981, Turkish extremist, Ali Mehmet Agca, was sentenced for shooting the pope. Later, John-Paul II met with him and publicly forgave him. Agca was later released after he repented of the crime.

An Italian parliamentary commission, in March of 2006, declared that the USSR had backed the attempt on the pope’s life, because of his support for Solidarity, the trade union federation that opposed the communist regime in Poland. The commission also alleged that Bulgarian secret service agents attempted to cover up any involvement by the Soviet Union.

Very nasty stuff! And to think that after the fall of the Soviet Union, President Reagan brought Gorbachev to this country and set him and his entourage of assistants up in an apartment complex at the former Presidio military base in California, where he held annual World Conferences with heads of State from all over the world would coming to discuss how to set up the One World Government. Gorbachev was also invited to give speeches on college and university campuses all over the U.S. HMMMMMMMM…
